A collection of six residences under construction at Runaway Bay will deliver a private island feel, with every owner securing a marina berth and direct access to the Broadwater. Wayfarer is being developed at 2-4 Poinsettia Avenue, with expansive waterfront homes ranging from 363sqm to 525sqm plus private marina berth.
Designed as private coastal retreats, each residence will include three ensuited bedrooms, a separate media room, dedicated gym or wellness space, private lift, swimming pool, sauna and substantial marine storage.
The two end residences will offer four-car garaging plus visitor parking, while the four central homes will include secure two-car garages and dedicated visitor spaces. Extensive glazing, natural stone, landscaped terraces and generous alfresco areas will connect the interiors to the water, while solar power, battery storage and EV charging will be integrated into every home.
Sandbox Properties directors Jack Tarrant and Levi Corby said Wayfarer was inspired by the sense of freedom and adventure they experienced when they first stood on the site.
“Standing there gives you a sense of adventure,” Mr Tarrant said.
“The water is open in front of you and there is a feeling that you could go anywhere. That became the starting point for Wayfarer.”
Wayfarer means a traveller or wanderer, reflecting the project’s connection to freedom, movement and life on the water.
“The name represents the freedom to keep the boat at home, head out whenever you choose and lock the door when you want to travel,” Mr Tarrant said.
“The water is part of how residents will live. It isn’t simply something they will see from the window.”
Wayfarer will have a low-rise form along the waterfront, with extensive glass, natural stone, deep landscaping and outdoor living areas facing the Broadwater.
The six homes have been designed for permanent residents and downsizers seeking substantial living areas, generous parking and private amenities without the maintenance of a large standalone property.
Mr Corby said the team deliberately protected the scale and experience of each residence.
“We had the opportunity to create six individual properties,” Mr Corby said.
“They all have multiple living areas, private wellness spaces, pools, marine storage and garages that work for people who are used to living in a standalone home.”
“The position gave us something special to work with. These sites do not repeat themselves, so every decision had to start with the water.”
The largest residence will span 525sqm and include four-car garaging, visitor parking, a 35sqm marine store and more than 100sqm of alfresco, balcony and entry space.
The second end residence will total 451sqm, while the four central homes will range from 363sqm to 365sqm.
Each residence enjoys direct connection to their private marina berth – straight out the back gate.
Construction has reached a key milestone this month with the first suspended concrete level being formed with completion expected in well in time for Christmas 2027.
Levi said starting construction before the public launch gave buyers something tangible to assess.
“People can see what is happening on the site and understand how the project is progressing,” he said.
“Wayfarer is already well underway and in terms of Construction programme 35% complete.”
The project has now launched to market this month, with prices starting from $5.795M.
